Forging Business Linkages for Sustainable Tourism Development in Africa

A total of 29 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and partnership arrangements were recorded by the AABF V organizers for a total value of US$ 245.43 million, breaking the value recorded in a single AABF in the past.

The MOUs and partnership arrangements reported were 10 Africa-Asia deals, 15 intra-Africa deals including those from Diaspora, and a deal each made between Africa-International Organization, Asia-International Organization, intra-Asia and Africa-Europe.

Of these, 17 deals were tourism-related. Other industries include electrical products, agro-processing, IT/IT equipments, and medical equipment/pharmaceuticals.

The most popular forms of collaboration sought were joint venture (13), partnership building (10), technical expertise (8), and technology transfer (7).
